Walking home through the street,
We met this hole in the ground.
It was deep, and jagged,
so black, and ragged,
Swallowing all our sound.

It looked so out of place,
too deep to even be true.
It was there, the glare
The empty stare,
Stayed as we withdrew.

Three boys afoot, in this shadowy town,
Craved comfort of the home.
Without knowing or scheming,
That we were just leaving,
The black hole all alone.
